How to Prep for Your Remote Training Session

Your device: Most people prefer a laptop so that you have a bigger screen that can tilt, but a phone or tablet can also work

Logging in: Log into your LegitFit account and click on the booked session. Click on the movie icon for the session and it will bring you right to the Zoom screen if it's within 10-minutes of the session's start time. See photo on right.

Practice session: Try starting a solo Zoom meeting to test your set-up beforehand

Room set-up:

- How’s the lighting?

  • A light source in front of you is better than behind you

  • A ring camera can help: either a tripod stand or phone attachment

- Can I see all of you?

  • Try a few standing exercises then floor exercises to compare

  • All-black outfits are the hardest to see which limb is where; patterns or bright colors are not necessary but helpful

- Create two different levels to place your device upon using items such as…

  • Cardboard boxes

  • A tripod or phone stand

  • Bookshelf

  • Table

  • Portable laptop stand

- Room selection

  • Do you have enough space to lie down or step out side-to-side?

  • Does it have a door for privacy or do you need a Do Not Disturb sign?

  • Do you have anywhere to anchor or loop your bands around such as a pole, heavy piece of furniture, or a door that can firmly close and ideally lock?

  • Does it have accessible outlets for charging if needed? Do you need an extension cord handy?

Equipment:

- Can you create a basket of your fitness & tech equipment to have all you need in one place?

- Do you have a spot to store your box out of reach of pets, children, or loved ones that like to borrow your things without returning them? ;-)

- Make your own equipment

  • Fill a backpack or utility bucket with bags of heavy things like sand, rice, books, baseballs, etc.

  • Try having pairs of sealed 1-gallon and 5-gallon water jugs

  • Soup cans work well for shoulder exercises

  • Furniture sliders, plastic shipping bags and paper plates can be used in place of fitness slider discs

- Handy basics

Nice to have:

- Water

- Layers of clothing and/or a fan nearby

- Socks w/ grip like these if possible for indoor training

- Optional: If you have a favorite playlist that gets you pumped up and you’re training one on one, feel free to use it

Cancellation Policy

Please cancel your own sessions from the LegitFit software. As much notice as possible when canceling is always appreciated. Please text me to alert me of same-day cancelations. Not showing up for the session without cancelation will forfeit the session.
